If your student is needing a backpack or school supplies, and they do not attend one of the schools listed above please visit the MLK Jr. Family Outreach Center, located at 845 S. Sherman Street to complete an application for backpacks. Applications must be returned to the MLK Jr. Center by August 17th. Backpacks will ready to pick up on Friday, August 26th at Grant Elementary from 10 am until 5:30 pm. Your student is guaranteed a backpack if your application is received by August 17th. For more information, call the MLK Jr. Center at (509)455-8722.

The Salvation Army will also be giving away backpacks on Wednesday, August 17th from 8 am to 6 pm at 222 E. Indiana Ave. Parents will need to bring photo ID, proof of child’s identity such as medical card, and proof of address such as an Avista bill. First come, first serve.
