Taci VanLeuven grew up in Spokane and graduated from Mt. Spokane High School. From there she studied kinesiology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara while playing volleyball and went on to get her masters at EWU in Occupational Therapy. She practiced for 7 years before becoming a superstar Realtor at 4 Degrees Real Estate. Taci was approached about being a Communities In Schools of Spokane County board member because of her spunk and desire to volunteer in the community. A few weeks later she saw a CIS ad in the Denver Airport and took it as a sign. “Communities In Schools is important to me because it hits home.” Taci has experienced rocky times in her life and she says “I know that kids are struggling and it’s important for them to have a support system.” She decided to join the board so that she could be a part of that support system. When asked what’s her favorite thing about being involved with CISSC she said “Hearing stories about how the site coordinators affect change in the lives of students. Being part of a board that will get their hands dirty and help to make sure kids have what they need.” When she needs a break from the world she gravitates towards the water, where she finds peace and refuge.
